"You can actually dispose of (latex) paint in the trash. You need it to be completely dried out. You can take the top off and air dry it, which takes a while or add some kitty litter (about 1 cup per gallon of paint) and it will dry much faster. Just leave the dried up paint with the lid off (and thrown away in the trash) next to your trash can and they should take it." (Z. Grant, 3/31/12)
